Douglas Paton was born and raised in Ontario, Canada and grew up spending his weekends on a boat in Georgian Bay. His curiosity about life, nature, and words began early. In 2011, a quest for adventure led Doug to the Okanagan Valley, located in the stunning province of British Columbia, where he fell in love with fly fishing.
Doug has been writing professionally for over 25 years. His experience ranges from small town newspapers to National Geographic, and everything in between. As a freelancer, Doug splits his time between the outdoors industry, where he tells stories about fish, and the tech world, where he makes complicated stories about technology more palatable.
Doug’s publishing credits include Men’s Journal, Fly Fusion Magazine, National Geographic, Scholastic Inc., as well as working with companies like Adobe. He can be found online at www.patoncontent.com & www.thewatercalls.ca or with his 10 year-old daughter and his fly rod, creek-side in the woods.
