Katie “Oats” Houston is a solo thru-hiker with over 3,000 miles under her belt, making her a perfect conduit for culture, lingo, and other backcountry knowledge. Born and raised in the Southern Appalachians, her favorite places to explore are the mountains of Western North Carolina alongside her husky, Thru.

Oats helps long-distance backpacking gear and media companies who strive to engage their audience by providing authentic, diverse, and informative content to increase community engagement in their online spaces. Her position as Community Manager with Sawyer Products has been expanding her scope of work in some truly incredible ways since Feb 2023.
