Scott Holley is Executive Director of the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute at the University of Utah’s Eccles School of Business. Before that he lived the founder exit story firsthand: he led the search-fund buyout of Eddyline Kayaks in 2017, built it into the top-reviewed touring and recreational kayak brand on paddling.com, expanded manufacturing into the US and Mexico, took investment from RZC Partners (the Walton family’s outdoor-focused private equity firm), and sold the company to Jackson Kayak in February 2025. A former investment banker and strategy consultant, he holds a finance degree from Utah and an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School.
