Outdoor Media Summit Graphic Design / Video Job Description
Every once in a lifetime, life changing opportunities present themselves. We think one of those opportunities is in front of us and we’re looking to bring on a graphic designer to help us capitalize on it.
The outdoor industry is moving away from the traditional trade show model and toward conferences. Outdoor Media Summit is one of the only leadership conferences (if not only) in the outdoor industry that has positive momentum from brands and media. We’re hoping to establish OMS as the gathering for media and brands in outdoor, and we believe we have two years to solidify our positioning as this gathering place. After that, the window of opportunity closes.
We’re looking for a graphic designer/video person to help us take Outdoor Media Summit to the level that the industry is demanding. This person needs to get excited about this vision. Ideally this person is based in Northwest Arkansas but that is not a requirement. Either way the position is semi-remote.
We also help put on other niche events in the outdoor industry including Arkansas’s outdoor recreation leadership conference, and have dreams of putting on other events as well.
Here’s who we’re looking for:

Ask yourself…
- Does the vision at the beginning of the job posting get you stoked out of your mind?
- Would I get excited in an environment with lots of people, small talking with media and marketing professionals in the outdoor industry?
- Can I commit to a few long, exhausting days during an event?
- After reading the Soft Skills portion, am I still excited about this gig?

A little about Outdoor Media Summit’s culture:
- Extracurriculars and hobbies: We believe that certain extracurriculars and side hustles bring benefit to the team at large. If you have a creator “side hustle,” particularly freelance writing, social media influencing, or pursue a sport professionally, we want to support these pursuits. After all, it benefits OMS if we have an influencer and pro athlete on staff.
Just remember, we support extracurriculars because it helps you with this job. This position is not meant to be a stepping stone for your side hustle.
- Work from the road / flexible schedule: We care less about if your butt is in a seat and more about making sure the work is getting done. I’ve closed six figure deals from a chair lift and taken plenty of client calls while on the river or pulled over next to singletrack. While the 20 days of PTO are true “turn off your phone,” PTO, we also support working from the road. Our team often travels internationally but are never late or unfocused when joining phone calls.
This isn’t an exact science since the workload changes throughout the year. In the beginning of the year, there’s less work. In the months before show time, workload gets progressively heavier and requires focus. This is where we lean on your intuition. We value your extracurriculars and personal life so keep up with your shit, don’t let it be a problem and we’re good.
